under the bed
My senior thesis is about how I'm feeling at this transitional stage in my life between childhood and adulthood. This collection began with an exploration of what the "monster under my bed" might have looked like, which is reflected in the bulky, exaggerated silhouettes of many of the pieces. Much my work is textile-based, and to create this collection I knitted, wove, dyed, and embroidered most of the fabrics to resemble the blankets on my childhood bed. I want my work to feel surreal and playful, while lending a sense of comfort to the wearer.
